Birds need 12 hours of uninterrupted sleep a night

Birds should be covered at night to ensure a quiet, undisturbed sleep.

Bathing

Birds should be lightly misted on a daily basis to keep their feathers in good health.  


Food

An all seed diet is very unhealthy for birds and can lead to a vast amount of health
problems.

Birds should eat a variety of foods including grains, fresh vegetables, meats, fruits and
nuts.


Lighting

Birds need full spectrum lighting daily.  Since most companion birds are kept  indoors
they need access to Full Spectrum lighting (which can not be obtained by putting a bird
near a window) in order to keep their feathers in good health.  Full Spectrum light bulbs
mimic the benefits of natural sunlight.
